Do you know what the best place for "watching people" is? The arrivals and departures gates at the airport. On the one side, you have tearful goodbyes with families and friends hugging desperately like they will never come back... On the other side, you have hearts made full when their loved one arrives back safe and sound. The contrast is amazing to see, and it always makes fills my heart with strong emotions. An airport was the location Giorgos chose to propose to his sweetheart Angela. Rather than picking a private spot to get down on one knee, he brought his friends along to greet Angela with sign that said “Will you marry me?”, and what else could she do but say “yes”? Okay, so it wasn't just the pressure of the public display in the airport. Angela would have said “yes” either way. They found in each other their forever love: a best friend, a lover, and a life companion. Each picture of them together is worth far more than a thousand words; their faces tell a story that, in an attempt to put it into words, would only be ruined. The location of their engagement session was a bold choice, but I've never been prouder of how the shots turned out. We ventured up the Troodos mountain range in Cyprus. Poor Angela had to 'hop' up the rocky terrain in her heels *as she was too stubborn to put her sneakers :D), but the breathtaking pictures we captured were more than worth it. Misty mountains swallowed up in the sunset and created the backdrop of a lifetime as Giorgos and Angela stole kisses in the dimming light. I think there were times when the two lovebirds forgot I was there, caught up in their passion for each other and losing themselves in each other's eyes. I felt as if I should quietly slip away and let them enjoy their time together, but my photographers side could not stop capturing such amazing sight! It was a long day, and tired as we were, we decided to stay and watch the sunset on the mountaintop. The experience was something I'll never forget. Watching the mountains disappear into the approaching grey night was a check on my bucket list that I never knew was there. It was a treat for all three of us, and as we made our way back down the mountain, we all agreed that the memory would be something we'd cherish for the rest of our lives. Live your love, Martina.
