There are moments in your life that you are excitedly awaiting… Passionately planning and eagerly expecting a perfection. A famous John Lennon quote says that life is what happens to us while we are busy making other plans. And 2020 couldn’t prove it any more accurate. Weddings were canceled, postponed or adjusted according to new governmental rules, while some couples simply decided to elope. Well, this is a story of a couple who, with some extra planning and organization, and after many postponed dates, managed to have an elegant wedding celebration in Ritz-Carlton Doha. Their day was just perfect - not a cloud in the sky, with a slight breeze and plenty of birds chirping in the Ritz garden - as a Qatar Wedding Photographer, I couldn’t wish for anything more. From the moment I entered the bride’s room, I was bewildered by the wedding dress. Bold and unique, this Dovita gown is a royalty-like masterpiece, with glamorous crystals, textured lace and handmade embroideries. Being an artwork for my eyes, I couldn’t think of any better place to document it, but a painting artwork itself. A couple of floors above, the groom was enjoying the company of his friends who helped him get dressed up. I immediately fell in love with custom initials embroidered on his shirt, combined with elegant Montblanc cufflinks, a gift from his beautiful bride. Being a watch lover, I couldn’t not notice Swiss Timepiece Zenith Defy Openwork. Together with a glass of blended Scotch whisky, is there anything more one needs for laying eyes upon your bride? What a first look it was! Despite I would normally prefer outdoor setting, I just had to choose this grandiose stairs for such important moment. The whole scene felt like a Disney princess gliding down to her prince, swooping deeply into his loving arms. After a brief outdoor photo session, they got ready for their entrances - Khaled accompanied by his beloved friends, and Shirine hand in hand with her loving father. I found it such an emotional moment when the father, with full trust, gave away the bride, wishing the newlyweds a life full of mutual understanding and love. His wishes were as grand as the Fauchon cake that was waaaaaay taller than I am. The celebration was wrapped up in a goosebumping first dance, greeted by loud cheers of their friends and family and sealed with the long kiss. Despite the quite crazy 2020 behind us, it is inspirational to witness such moments of joy and love that doesn’t stop even in a time of pandemic.
