Many times, I have witnessed the magic light that Cyprus shines on people and the power that connects lovers. It's only fitting that this island is the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Ancient Greek myth tells us that she rose from the frothy waters, fully grown, with radiant beauty unlike any other goddess. Travelers come from all over the world to see this place; many leave with more than they came for. Such is the story of one of my favorite couples who decided to have their engagement session on Cyprus' most famous beach, Petra Tou Romiou. They came to the island expecting nothing more than striking views, but when they met, they felt an incredible connection when their paths crossed that only soulmates can share. She became his Aphrodite, and he was her Ares. It didn't take them long to move in together, and before they knew it, they were set to get married! It may seem like a fairytale, two people meeting at one of the most famous and mythical locations in all of ancient Greece. To them, however, it was fate. Drawn together by the tides of love with their strong waves and currents, they have decided to live the rest of their lives as husband and wife. I couldn't have asked for a better location to do the shoot at. While the mighty rock and endless blue backdrop is pretty much picture-postcard-perfect during the day, nothing beats watching the sun dip below the horizon while the sky lights up in fiery crimson and orange hues. Watching them was like witnessing a romantic tale play itself out before my very eyes. She, small but strong, is a force to be reckoned with – one that he had no hope of resisting. His muscled arms wrapped around her with gentle care as I photographed them. His hand would softly touch her face, holding her gaze possessively as she placed soft kisses on his lips. Not even Hollywood could replicate the moments they shared. I hope you enjoy seeing this couple's love put into pictures as much as I do. May they find endless happiness in each other!
